NEW ALBUM available now

The 7th album in my "10 albums in 10 years" project is now available.

HENOTIC is an instrumental remix of the music from my collaboration with Melbourne poet Joel McKerrow. It features original compositions with myself on saxophone, duduk, clarinet and bass guitar accompanied by Tasmanian musicians - violist Clare Corban-Banks and her husband Edrick  on classical guitar.

Purchase it on my music page.

I have just finished performing a few arrangements for Nick Haywood and his homage to the CHARLIE HADEN LIBERATION ORCHESTRA. We played two concerts at the @ MONA FOMA festival. Charlie Haden's daughter Petra (vocals and violin) fronted the orchestra for the performances.

My daughter's band "SERA AND THE RATBAGS" played their first gig at MOMA (the Mona Markets in Hobart) Lea, Sera and Ella on percussion and myself on saxophone.

I have just spent 3 days in the Chapel of Sound - Ross A'Herns mixing studio working on my album with the Sirius Chamber Ensemble.  FLYING will be my 8th album in my "10 albums in 10 years" project and  will be released at the end of 2018.

The album was made possible with a grant from Arts Tasmania.

Both Lea and I were interviewed by the lovely Charlie McCarron for his long running podcast - COMPOSER QUEST. Charlie was on his crowd-funded world tour to interview composers from all over the word and he came and stayed with us for 3 days. He is an amazing guy, and really captured a wonderful sonic snapshot of our lives as artists.
